hey everyone, thought I would share this with you. according to the census the population of amarillo between 20 and 45 is approx. 33% . This is the group we are targeting. why? because they are the generation that has lost faith in the establishment and traditional religion and what it has to offer. they feel they have been abandoned and what they search for has not been shown to them. I feel they are right . the church has not answered their question. when they attend church(especially if they are single or single again)  there is nothing there that solves their problem or eases the hurt they have. (fortunately some find an answer there in the form of a good marriage relationship, good for them, unfortunately the spector of divorce or divorces prevail, even more so in christian circles)Let's be honest , when they go to a christian dance , are they not looking for that same fulfillment?  Many of them attempt to find this in secular outlets which often result in the same sad failure. We have to as a church or a christian related organization look for clues to needs and come up with solutions to the problem. I feel we need to look no further than our own hearts for the answer. And by the way, if you are over 45 take a good long look at your own heart and needs to reach out to others and their needs.  As a marketing expert let me tell you that a person buys a product only because it meets a need they have, and only then. I fear churches are trying to sell a product that is defective (no offense to anyone out there) and we need to do a better job as christians to sell the genuine thing.  Pray about that in your personal endeavors in life.
